Effective Aid International Ltd is committed to protecting your privacy. We collect, store and use some of your personal information so we can help those in need. We are bound by the National Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1998.

  • A history of your donations, correspondences and other interactions with Effective Aid International.

  • When we are legally required to do so, such as security and police checks if you wish to visit one of our overseas projects.

  • Process your donation or provide receipts.
  • Provide you with information on how your donation is used.
  • Confirm your identity should you contact us or enquire about your donation.
  • Communicate with you about the work Effective Aid International is undertaking.
  • Address any feedback or complaints you may have.
  • Answer your queries. Develop, improve and market our range of causes, events, products and services which we believe may be of interest to you.

If you choose to give us your email address, we will use this as our primary means of communication.
 
We will send you email newsletters and other email communication which you may unsubscribe from via the links in our newsletters and emails.
 
When We Disclose Your Personal Information:
 
If you become a sponsor of a child or a specific project, personal details such as your name, address and email may be given to either the Effective Aid International office in that country or to the directors of the specific project so they can send you progress reports on the child or the project.
 
In order to communicate with you in relation to the activities of Effective Aid International, we may disclose your personal information to external organisations. The functions of such organisations include:
  • Mailing operations.
  • Email services.
  • Information technology services.
  • Marketing analysis services.
  • Market research.
  • Website usage analysis.
  • Call centre operations.
  • Payment of donations or products and services.
We take steps to ensure that these external organisations are contractually bound to privacy and confidentiality obligations in relation to your personal information and that it is only used for the specific purpose for which we supply it.

How This Information is Held:

The security of your information is important to us. When we have collected information about you it cannot be seen or modified by anyone else. We make all reasonable efforts to ensure your information is stored securely – whether in electronic or physical form.
 
If and when we use external contractors, such as a mailing house to send you our mail, any personal information disclosed to the contractor remains confidential to us.
 
Any information that we no longer require is destroyed.
 
Opting Out or Correcting Your Information:
 
It is our policy to give our supporters access to the information we hold about them and also to opt out of receiving further communication.
